They are the ones who keep things fair, professional, and on schedule, ensuring competitors have the best possible experience.

What many competitors and families often forget is that judges are volunteers, generously giving their time, focus, and energy to the athletes on the mat. They may not always be perfect—after all, no one is—but what truly matters is their knowledge of the rules, their understanding of the tournament structure, and their commitment to excellence of each and every competitor.

When judges bring skill, consistency, and passion to their role, they set the standard for quality competition. And without them, no tournament could ever reach its full potential.

At N.Y. Tournaments, we believe a great event starts with a great team. That’s why we’re building a strong core of Center Referees, Black Belt Side Judges, and Scorekeepers to help every tournament run smoothly, professionally, and on time.

To keep our officials sharp and confident, we host regular meetings and training sessions to review rules, regulations, and any updates. It’s also a great opportunity to connect with fellow judges, share experiences, and be part of a supportive community.
